Membership

Membership is open to all leaders employed by DECS as Regional Director, Assistant Regional Director, Principal, Deputy Principal, Assistant Principal or Senior Leader of a school or recognised centre of learning, Director of a pre-school or kindergarten, or Manager of Regional Support Services. Others in leadership positions in DECS may apply for membership if they have previously held a school leadership role.

Membership eligibility (as defined in the Constitution of SASSLA)

According to the SASSLA Constitution, all applications for membership are to be approved by the Board. You will be advised of the outcome of your application, and if accepted as a member of SASSLA your membership will take effect from the first payroll deduction.

Current membership rate is $16 per fortnight, and advice from the ATO is that this is tax deductible. You will receive a statement of contributions at the end of the financial year. It is your responsibility to notify the Executive officer if your worksite or position changes, or if you wish to resign from the Association.
